A note from the President

Spring 2018

Well fellow Tyandaga Mews owners, the summer is here and the Corporation has weathered a tough winter very nicely and I hope all of you did as well. Over last few weeks, as I see owners are getting out of their homes and into their yards, it has been a pleasure to talk to neighbours and see other neighbours helping each other. As I see the value of Tyandaga Mews and our individual units increase, I also see our neighborhood coming together and getting stronger. I hear of and see our neighbours helping other neighbours more than I have seen before. Well done! I believe we will have a great summer in The Mews. That said, we are maintaining a list of people that do or would like to volunteer to help the Corporation, outside of the Board. We need or will need owner help from time to time. We currently have 6 (out of 76) other unit owners that are helping out in different ways. I am keeping a list of names of those are helping or would like to help do something to Tyandaga Mews make Tyandaga better, if you wish to contribute please contact me. Unfortunately very few of the new owners over the past number of years have offered their services, even though we have an average 8% turnover each year. It is important for you to know that this fall, the Board will again be requiring owners to step up and run for election to the Board. By our declaration, we are to have 5 Directors on the Board; however this year our newly elected Director had to regrettably resign after moving for personal reasons. We have operated with 4 directors for this past year, it is absolutely critical for owners to step up and help maintain and increase Tyandaga Mews value not only this but in future years. Top quality training is provided by the Canadian Condominium Institute at no expense to our owners or directors. For the future benefits and to able to maintain our current values of HCC 32 we need capable people to seriously consider this. Your Board always has a few major programs each year and this past year, while completion of the landscaping project is the primary one, another significant project was to strengthen or change our strategic partnerships with our major suppliers.
